Meet Dr. Madeleine Flahr
Originally from BC, Madeleine grew up on Vancouver Island, where she was heavily involved in 4-H and other equine-related activities. She then completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at Thompson Rivers University in 2020, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 2025.
Throughout her training, Dr. Flahr completed many externships across Western Canada as well as in Oklahoma and Texas, where she had the opportunity to learn from a variety of talented and experienced equine practitioners. These opportunities fostered her appreciation for the many approaches to equine health and deepened her commitment to delivering thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence based care to each horse she treats. Dr. Flahr remains deeply committed to continual growth and professional development. She actively participates in continuing education opportunities and collaborates closely with her fellow colleagues.

Outside of work, you can find her spending time with her family, riding horses, working with her dogs, and crafting.

From time to time, you might see one of these canine companions in the passenger seat. Jackson (left) has been with Madeleine since her 2nd year of her undergraduate degree, and is an expert in riding shotgun and keeping her company. Rupert (right) was a new addition earlier this year who is still learning how to sit still!
